Data Management Plan Database
A Data Management Plan (DMP) describes how you will manage, store, secure, document, and share research data. DMPs can vary broadly across disciplines, methodologies, and data types. DMPs are a growing requirement for grants, and can also guide data practices for individuals and teams. DMP Assistant is a free webtool that guides you through drafting your DMP and the easiest way to start building a DMP.
Our database gathers examples from across the world including DMPs from the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Qualitative DMP Competition, DataOne, Digital Curation Centre, Liber, the Working Group on NIH DMSP Guidance, and UC San Diego Research Data Curation into one searchable, open-access platform.

This DMP attempts to redevelop a methodology of measuring Fe(II) in ocean seawater columns to create a better estimate of its concentration.
This DMP articulates the RDM procedures that will be undertaken for a FAIR Hackathon Workshop.
This DMP aims to collect data on fish grazing intensity and algal biomass on water temperature and population control of primary producers.
This DMP aims to collect coastal hazard data, property damages, GIS shape files, and socio-economic demographic data in order to understand changes in populations near/in vulnerable coastal regions.
This DMP aims to collected transmitted-light microscopy images of giemsa-stained squashed larval brains, confocal microscopy images of immunostained whole-mounted larval brains, and western blot data to investigate the "role of Polo kinase in metaphase to anaphase transition in Drosophila melanogaster."
This DMP aims to collect data on viruses and viral infections in the ocean to better understand which bacteria viruses infect. To do this, the researchers are developing a "high-throughput technique to identify cultures in the environment."
This DMP will work to create DMP exemplar policies, technical infrastructure, and exemplars that that are in line with the FAIR data guidelines.
This DMP aims to collect physical samples near mining areas to evaluate the impact of mine waste minerals on the Mojave Desert.
This DMP will collect data on the growth of the population of a Copepod over time under different treatment conditions.
This DMP aims to collect data by analyzing the rocks from the San Andreas Fault Zone to better understand processes, particularly dynamic weakening that lead to the generation of earthquakes.
This is a data management plan that aims to understand the evolution of oxidative stress response networks in ROS resistant yeast.
This DMP aims to collect data on rocks following an earthquake to determine the processes that underly earthquake.
This DMP aims to collect ecological data on a Florida Reef tract including RNA sequences, carbonate chemistry experiments, copepod specimens, etc.
This DMP aims to collect data on the concentration of CO2 beneath waves in seawater flume.
This DMP aims to create software maps in order better read and store HDF files.
This DMP will measure the impact change sea levels and melting of the ice sheet has on the marine biologic pump.
This DMP aims to collect marine data in order to determine the impact climate change has on marine fish and how they have responded.
This DMP aims to generate a dataset from the analysis of 3 major urban areas in order to ascertain the "sources, pathways, and impact of freshwater microplastic pollution" to inform European decision makers about best strategies for prevention and mitigation.
This DMP examines how changes in forest structure due to natural and manmade events like logging and forest fires in conjunction with other factors like climate, nutrient concentration etc. act to influence how fast trees grow, nitrogen is retained, and carbon is captured.
This DMP aims to collect atmospheric data in East Antarctica like cloud height and temperature.
This DMP aims to collect data along a stretch of the Canadian Artic to establish a baseline level of pollen that will be compared to current modern levels of pollen so that the effect of climate change on the Artic and subarctic ecosystems can be ascertained.
This DMP will use data from existing datasets that are already largely public to conduct analyses and create computational models to answer the research question.
This DMP will collect genetic data from experiments to understand and provide a solution to the "increase in "insecticide resistance in mosquito vectors of human pathogens."
This project aims to design quality and inclusion into cyber-human systems. Their DMP uses the NSF Computer and Information Science and Engineering DMP template to outline their plan to care for and de-identify demographic, Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale–Revised (RAADS-R), and NASA Task Load Index data.
This DMP will collect primary research data on field observations, lab analysis, simulation models, GIS maps, etc. to answer the research question.
This document is an in-depth process Data Management Plan for the OSIRIS-REx project. This outlines generation and validation of mission, spacecraft, instrumentation, calibration, algorithms, software, and other data for an asteroid sample return project.
This DMP seeks to collect data on precipitation level and the corresponding temperature to create a dataset that analyses the relationship between the above.
This DMP will collect data from various cellular techniques like mass spectrometer, PCR, western blots, etc. to answer the research question.
This DMP aims to collect data from stakeholder, Principal Investigator, and focus group interviews to assess the attitudes towards and feasibility of novel technologies in the water sector.
