It’s International Open Access Week! This month, Community of Practice will engage in a discussion about open data. Data sharing is a common requirement of funding agencies and journals. It is also an important part of the research process enabling reproducibility, improving engagement with the research community, and creating the opportunity for further research. Join us on October 26th, at 11am to discuss open data!
Dr. Michelle Dion (Political Science) will discuss research transparency and the ethics around post-publication critiques and corrections. She will also talk about the role of reproducibility as a means to uphold reliability in publications. Dr. Phil Kollmeyer will discuss the value of data sharing in electrical engineering and how open datasets can be used to standardize algorithm testing and help researchers compare their approaches.
